Black and White and Dead All Over by John Darnton

This new novel by John Darnton is a fast-paced whodunit that entertains on several levels.

Theodore S. Ratnoff, assistant managing editor of the New York Globe, is found murdered in his office with the same spike in his chest that he used to kill reporters’ stories.  The suspect list includes a number of Globe employees who have been humiliated over the years by the domineering, powerful, and spiteful Ratnoff.  NYPD detective Priscilla Bollingsworth and Globe investigator Jude Hurley begin the daunting task of exonerating a laundry list of suspects, who include rogue cops, a reporter suspected of plagiarism and a disgraced executive editor.  One murder is followed by another and each murder is more gruesome and more telling then the one before.  It becomes painfully obvious that the murderer is sending some elusive message.  The mounting suspense will keep readers on the edge until the very last page.
